The award-winning student portal dashboard — a cohesive Ellucian Experience build that transformed how JU students, faculty, and staff interact with university systems daily.
About the Project
MyJU is Jacksonville University's primary student portal, built on the Ellucian Experience platform. When I joined JU, the dashboard was underutilized — cards felt disconnected, information was hard to find, and students avoided it. The goal was to turn it into something students, faculty, and staff actually relied on every day.
I redesigned and built out the full card ecosystem — including My Advisor (pulling live advisor assignments from Colleague via Ethos), Harbor (a holds and alerts card showing what's standing in a student's way), Academic Standing (live GPA and credit data), and dozens of others across the Home, Application Processing, Campus Life, Employees, and Faculty tabs. Every card was built with intentional information hierarchy, Colleague data integration via Ethos API, and a consistent visual language that felt native to JU. The dashboard won the 2026 Ellucian Experience Idol — Best Dashboard award at Ellucian Live, and came with a $5,000 student scholarship.
